Sustainability Chats - Local Sustainability Happenings & Drawdown Challenge Informational Kick Off

Sustainability is commonly framed through a lens of scarcity and fear of the future, but the Sustainability Institute takes a different approach.  We believe that embracing sustainability leads to abundance of well-being, clean air and water, nutritious food, decent jobs, and biodiversity, pointing us toward a more vibrant future for our communities. At the Sustainability Institute, we help the Driftless region create a positive vision of what could be by celebrating regional sustainability efforts and connecting individuals to them and each other.

Join us as we share and highlight local events happening in October. We will also talk about the Drawdown Challenge in hopes you join our team as we work together taking joyful action to reduce global warming and track our collective impact.

The Drawdown Challenge is a solutions-oriented engagement program focused on reducing carbon in the atmosphere. The actions within this challenge connect to solutions highlighted in Project Drawdown's work - research that maps, measures, models, and describes solutions to global warming that already exist. Participants choose actions, complete those actions, and track and share their progress using the online platform. When they check off their completed actions, they earn points and see the real-time impact of their actions. The combination of collective action, camaraderie, and friendly competition makes change a little easier — and a lot more fun. Team participants will also be eligible to win some great local prizes during our Drawdown Challenge Celebration in October.

Sustainability Chats are monthly virtual green tours celebrating and highlighting the sustainable efforts happening throughout the Driftless region.
